1 April 2021
Dear Colleagues, pupils and parents,
I am writing to warmly welcome you all to the Potteries Educational Trust as both Werrington Primary School and Moorside High School join the Trust today, April 1st 2021. Having worked closely together with both schools for some time, we are delighted that you are now joining the PET family as full members of the Trust.
Over the coming months and years, I look forward to getting to know you more and to work with each community to help you achieve success and to support the development of each school community. There will be many new opportunities for children, staff and indeed parents as a result of joining the PET, and as the country begins to emerge from the effects of such a terrible pandemic we will be there to support you in providing the very best education for every child in our care. We aim also to work with the Werrington community in a variety of ways to celebrate and support activities and causes that matter to your community.
Whilst you may still have questions about what this will mean for you, I would like to assure you of the values of the Trust ‐ we place huge store in being:
A caring community, delivering excellence and inspiring futures
Each school community is individually vital to the success of the PET and your success is our goal as a Trust – supporting every child and every member of staff to be the best they can be. The activities of the Trust will seek to inspire every child to dream big and aim high – former students of the Trust are authors, scientists, doctors, headteachers, politicians, company executives, researchers, sportsmen and women, artists and performers and much more. Fundamentally, we are a Trust that puts people first, and the needs of every child, member of staff and every parent matter more to us than anything else.
Now to some thankyous:
For every member of staff – thank you so much for all you do in looking after each child, in seeking the best for them and doing so during such a difficult time. Your constant cheerful hard work and focus on the children and what is best for them is really appreciated and valued. All those new skills you have acquired to deliver high quality virtual learning and all the endless patience you show in your dedication to your job is very much appreciated.
For every child –thank you for working hard, for being positive people who care for your friends and those around you. I’ve met many of you at different times when I have visited your school and never cease to be impressed with how well behaved, how thoughtful and how enthusiastic for learning you are.
For every parent – I have met a few of you at different events in the school but I’m really looking forward to meeting many more of you. Thanks for your hard work during lockdown in supporting your children’s education even when at times it must have been difficult for you. The partnership between school, parents, children and now the PET as well is so important and I am so grateful for all you do and for what excellent parenting skills you continue to show.
So welcome once again, have a lovely, restful and enjoyable Easter break and come back refreshed for the summer term.
